Perched on the hills overlooking the French Riviera, this private residence was designed as a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean living. Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the project sought to blur the boundaries between architecture, interior design, and nature while creating a home that feels both sophisticated and relaxed.

The design challenge centred on balancing modern architectural forms with the warmth and authenticity often associated with traditional Mediterranean homes. The clients envisioned a contemporary retreat that embraced natural materials, celebrated sunlight, and reflected the colours of the surrounding coastline and hills.

To achieve this, the interior palette draws heavily from the region's natural environment. Terracotta tones, limewashed walls, textured plaster finishes, and handcrafted materials create depth and character throughout the home. Sculptural furniture and curved architectural details soften the clean lines of the contemporary structure, introducing a sense of fluidity and comfort.

Natural light was a driving force behind the design, shaping both the spatial organisation and material selections. Large openings frame views of the landscape while allowing sunlight to animate surfaces throughout the day. The interplay between texture, shadow, and colour creates an atmosphere that evolves with the changing Mediterranean light.

The result is a serene and timeless residence that combines modern functionality with a strong sense of place, offering a refined interpretation of Riviera living rooted in warmth, craftsmanship, and connection to nature.
